This

The editor, Svein Mønnesland, professor of
Slavonic studies at the Department of East
European and Oriental Studies, Universitry of
Oslo, has collected hundreds of old drawings and
prints from archives, books and magazines. This
unique collection gives a broad picture of the
multiethnic Bosnia, its turbulent past, its
culture, folklore and daily life, from the 16th
century until the First World War. Old texts,
chosen with great care, supplement the pictures.
Information is given about the artists and the
authors of old books on Bosnia and Herzegovina.
